ICAR, KVK-Ri-Bhoi, ICAR Complex, Umiam had organized KISAN SAMMAN SAMAROH on 24th Feb,2025 alongwith livestreaming of release of 19th instalment of PM-Kisan scheme in collaboration with ATMA, Nongpoh, Ri-Bhoi district at ATARI, Zone-VII, Umiam. The programme was attended by 60 farmers from Mawbsein, Mawkyrdep, Kyrdem, Sohriewblei and Mawbri village along with the staffs of KVK, ATARI, ATMA and State officials. At the very outset welcome address was delivered by Dr. Mokidul Islam, Principal Scientist and Head of KVK Ri-Bhoi where he highlighted the purpose and importance of the programme. This was followed by the PM KISAN live streaming programme for the release of the 19th installment where Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi addressed the farmers marking the celebrations of Diwas. After the livestreaming programme, Dr. A.K. Mohanty, Director, ATARI, Zone-VII, Umiam briefed the farmers on different schemes offered by Hon’ble PM Modi and requested them to avail such facilities for their economic upliftment. Mr. Mightystar Lyngdoh, Deputy project Director, ATMA briefed about the PM Kisan Samman Samaroh to the farmers and requested to work hand to hand with various organisations for effective functioning of schemes. The programme was coordinated by Dr. Meghna Sarma, SMS, Agronomy, ICAR, KVK, Ri-Bhoi which concluded with distribution of certificates and quality seed distribution to the farmers.
